There is nothing like waking up at the beach. If you are close enough, you can hear the ocean, but there is also the fresh ocean air and maybe the morning breeze.  Most people want to walk  and take a look out to the horizon and see what is happening.19191822.thb 300x199 What You Can Do In a Day at Oceanside

Man feels better by the water. We are mostly water, live in it for our first 9 months and love to get in it to soothe our souls. Tourists and locals can be seen at the water’s edge walking, running, biking, and taking Fido out for a stroll. Oceanside is very dog friendly and most of the dogs are.

There is that first cup of coffee that can be enjoyed at a kiosk near the Pier or many venture to the Pier View Coffee Co for really good coffee and/or pastries and stroll along the strand, coffee in hand.  Petite Madeline’s on Coast Highway and Pier View is also great for coffee and home made pastries.

So many great places for Breakfast. Beach Break at the Harbor specializes in tasty dishes with patio dining viewing the Harbor. Walk to the Harbor, have breakfast, walk out on the Jetty to watch the boats and surfers, walk home and you might have covered 4 miles.

In town there is Breakfast Club Diner on Coast Highway and Pier View. There is the Long Boarder with outside patio dining in downtown on Tremont and Mission.

Now that you have eaten, the world is your playground.  Take surfing or paddle board lessons or rent the equipment and do it on your own. Rent a motor boat, jet ski, sail boat, paddle board, kayak, electric boat, paddle boat and tour the Harbor or ocean at Boats4Rent.

How about golf at one of three great courses and 30% off with the Bonus Card at Arrowood Golf Course; a Ted Robinson 6,700 yard professional course. Feeling adventurous? How about tandem skydiving at Tsunami Sky Diving or Paint Balling at Pendleton with the Paint Ball Park. You can take fitness classes on the beach.

Well its almost 3 o’clock and the Happy Hours are near. Rock’n Baja in the Harbor and other Sports Bars and Restaurants are offering great drink prices and often reduced appetizers.  Venetos on Coast Highway has Happy Hour and half priced Italian Delicacies. Happy Hours starts at noon til 7 p.m. at Monterey Bay Canners in the Harbor.  Tremont Street Sports Bar and Grill is a fun tourist and local bar for drinks and dining.

Why not visit a micro brewery like Stone Company on Tremont St. downtown or Breakwater Brewery on Coast Highway. Some of the best beers you have ever tasted are created in the booming micro breweries in Oceanside.

Watch beautiful sunsets before dinner on the strand or Pier.

Dinner is wide open. Sushi at Harneys downtown, Pizza at Dominic and D’Vino in the Harbor, Mexican at Cabo Grille roof top dining or Anita’s on Coast Highway (20% off with the Bonus Card).

Karoke at many establishments and even late night happy hours at several. Dancing on the weekends at Cabo Grille.

You tired yet? Time for a good nights sleep so you can start over tomorrow.
