San Diego Independant Filmmaker Needs Help!

I wanted to let my fellow Sandieagins know about an exciting project I’ve been working on for the last 6 weeks. I recently completed my first film Venus and Adonis The Curse of Love and have just started the production phase of my second. It’s a short dark romantic comedy that I recently wrote called Dead Serious. It’s a complicated shoot; as the entire 20 minute film takes place at a lake house. We need to raise funds for the movie to use an LA actress, crew, equipment, a storyboard artist, food for the 3 day shoot as well as rent the lake house itself. I was originally going to use all San Diego talent, but haven’t been able to find a lake house locally to rent. We will be moving the cast and crew up to Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead. Our Indiegogo Campaign is now up and running and even though the filming itself will not be here in San Diego, I’m hoping my community would be willing to pitch in. The campaign has had a sluggish start for a few reasons. My actress got so excited about raising funds that she sent the draft around, this lead to some confusion and before you knew it I had to go live 5 days before I was ready. Also I have asked for a great deal of money because I wish to try for the whole amount even though I will eventually get the film funded. I need to bring something to the table! This movie WILL be made and I would love it so much if my very own San Diego where I have lived and worked for years and years as an artist would help out.

Author/Indie Filmmaker I've produced 30 live productions including Mid Summer Night's Dream, Blythe Spirit, and Cyrano de Bergerac. I've adapted "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and "The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe" from novels to plays and which I also produced and directed. I adapted Shakespeare's mini epic poem Venus and Adonis into a screenplay then produced and directed the film. I've written one original play called "At a Bar in SouthPark" which I produced and directed, and one children's novel called "Winkie and The Sunflower", to be published with Haven KIDS fall of 2013. Currently working on a dark romantic comedy short called Dead Serious. I have been a live performer for more than 20 years and have done costume design for the last 10.
