It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s The Flu! Yuck!
Flu season is just around the corner, which usually begins during the winter season. We have several different ways we can go about taking care of ourselves to make sure we do not become infected. One of the most popular ways we tend to protect ourselves is with the flu vaccine. The process of creating the vaccine (influenza vaccine) is to grow the vaccine in chicken eggs for eleven days. The effectiveness of the flu vaccine really depends on the age and the health status of the person who is vaccinated. Influenza related deaths are most common amongst those who are 65 and older. I personally have never been vaccinated for the flu because I would rather take a more natural/homeopathic route. Other tips to protect you from the flu would include exercising regularly and taking vitamins such as vitamin C to increase the body’s immune system. Also, you should be cautious as possible during this time to make sure that you are using anti-bacterial gels and so forth after utilizing things that are available to the public. For example; public restrooms, computers, pens, etc. People who have the flu should also be cautious not to spread the virus by covering their mouths when coughing, and try to stay away from public venues in which many people can contract the virus. It is also smart for them to use anti-bacterial gels and so forth to make sure that they are not spreading germs. Maybe even wear a surgical mask so we all know you are infected. I am just kidding of course (maybe not).
Just know that it is always good to level on the side of altruism when you take care of yourself. If we all try to stay healthy and flu free then that will be less of us spreading the flu!
